PUBLIC LECTURE

ANTARCTIC SEA ICE: CHALLENGES & TRENDS

It’s the ongoing paradox: as the world continues to warm, sea ice extent around Antarctica is gradually increasing.

In parts of Antarctica, changes in sea ice distribution are impacting shipping operations and the delivery of scientists, support personnel and supplies to Antarctic bases.

The forces driving these changes are complex but increasingly well understood.

In this timely and topical public lecture, Professor Tony Worby discusses scientific and logistical challenges ahead.
