Australian scientists have a proud tradition of polar research


NEWS.COM.AU: Since the days of Douglas Mawson’s pioneering expeditions in the early 1900s, Australian scientists have been at the forefront of Antarctic research.

With climate change, the state of the world’s oceans and whaling an increasing focus of concern, the need for a solid scientific understanding of the polar regions has never been more important.
