High-tech Antarctic research expedition sets sail

ABC LOCAL RADIO: The SIPEX 2 expedition sets sail tonight aboard the Aurora Australis on a seven week scientific journey to measure the effects of climate change on sea-ice floes east of the southern continent. The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD) and Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre (ACE CRC) collaboration will help scientists gain a better understanding of the connection between sea ice and Southern Ocean ecosystems.

Presented by Damien Larkins.

Authorised by the CEO of the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre October 2019.

The ACE CRC was established and supported under the Australian Government’s Cooperative Research Centres Program.
